Two Ways to Approach God
Ever since the Fall, humanity has approached God in two ways: by trusting human effort or by receiving God’s grace. These two approaches are seen throughout the Bible. One says, ‘I must earn God’s acceptance.’ The other says, ‘I receive God’s acceptance through Jesus Christ.’ :Religion is man reaching for God. Biblical Christianity is God reaching down to man. One depends on what we do. The other depends on what Christ has already done. The question is: Will I trust myself or will I trust Christ?
