Now that humanity’s family tree was bent toward unbelief, each one of us was born into that condition. Romans 5:12-19. Unable to free ourselves, we needed a Savior. Christ came to do what we could never do for ourselves. Through his death and resurrection, he provided the only remedy for our condition. That’s why the cross was necessary. And now the Holy Spirit draws us to Christ, and everyone who trusts in him is grafted into him and receives new life.
